There are wide varieties of this beautiful plant. The Dutchman's Breeches have white flowers that resemble white breeches. These plants are indigenous to the areas or forests of eastern North America. Many of them are found in the Columbia Basin.
The leaves of the Dutchman's Breeches are tiny and have many small pink and white bulbs shaped like teardrops. The flowers are primarily white, but some are pink. They bloom early in spring, with three to four buds on their stalks.
